AgeVolt for developers – charging as a new standard for residential and office projects

Build apartments, offices or retail with installed charging infrastructure from the time of approval. With AgeVolt you design the optimal number of AC / DC stations, intelligently share power and retain full control over price and energy - without long-term commitment to an external CPO . This creates a real benefit for residents and a new revenue stream from charging management.

Problem

  • Long-term contracts with an external CPO - A developer who signs a 10- or 20-year contract with a large charging station operator at the time of construction takes and hands over control over pricing and maintenance. The first part of the margin is immediately lost, residents lose the opportunity to charge at meaningful, profitable prices.
  • Chargers in the project are still perceived as a "boiler room for 20 years" - All developers have electrical connections or additional circuit breakers for common consumption at their disposal, but they consider chargers to be a separate business that they "blow out" to an external supplier. Similar to boiler room operation, contracts are concluded for decades, often without the possibility of adjusting tariff conditions.
  • Residents are buying more value – not just parking - A customer buying an apartment or office expects a parking space to have a charger as standard or an extra. A home solution under sustainable conditions is becoming a basic need for new residents and tenants.
  • Without your own cloud solution, you are not the masters of your infrastructure - If the developer/administrator does not have a billing, e-roaming, and energy management solution under control, they are holding residents hostage, who simply have to agree to the terms of the operator with a long-term signed contract.

Possible consequences

Imagine a resident buying an apartment and expecting the new parking space to be fully electric. However, if the developer does not provide a sustainable service for its use in addition to the charger, the apartment sale offer becomes a "bargain" offer only for an external charging provider, the resident discovers that charging costs 50% more than the regular price of electricity - this is a signal that the investor has made a mistake where he should have solved the standard.

The situation will worsen even more when, after the “zero” year, the first residents arrive and discover that the contract with the CPO does not allow them to share capacity between apartments, they have to pay high flat-rate costs for the connection and a high price for charging. Although the developer has got rid of the worries about operation, complaints and reputational damage quickly arrive. Moreover, as trends accelerate, the CPO price may further skyrocket above the domestic tariff – residents stop charging in the project and look for charging at work, the capacity remains unused. The result is a loss of prestige, a dramatic drop in CLOU (Customer Lifetime Overall Utility) and ongoing complaints.

Solution

Our specialists are happy to get involved already in the design phase. Together we will determine the optimal number of stations, their location and performance parameters so that the entire solution meets not only technical standards, but also the expectations of future residents or business clients. This way, the developer will be sure that the charging points will be fully functional immediately after the construction is handed over.

AgeVolt will provide all the necessary hardware – from AC wallboxes to DC fast chargers – and design smart cabling that minimizes the demands. Thanks to this, there are no hidden costs during implementation and the entire process runs smoothly.

We will connect all stations to the MyAgeVolt cloud portal, which will allow the administrator to calculate energy, invoicing, and also provide energy management. Everything is customized and worry-free. Residents only pay the price of electricity and are happy not only with their new housing, but also with the sustainable charging in it.

In this way, residents become fully autonomous CPOs without being tied to external firms.

No external CPO = no uncertainty and lower costs

Neither the developer nor the administrator need to worry about unexpected expenses or complicated complaints.

Happy residents and long-term project value
Everything works as intuitively as an elevator or building entrance control .

This way, parking spaces become an added value for real estate sales and the developer builds a reputation as an innovator who thought about the comfort and sustainability of his clients.

    Quick preparation for charging infrastructure

The client needed to quickly and cost-effectively prepare for the installation of charging stations for a new residential project. The standard procedure, which involves pouring concrete foundations, would have significantly extended the implementation time and worsened the visual impression.

    AgeVolt SmartBase

Instead of concreting the foundations, we installed AgeVolt SmartBase - underground shafts that house the cabling for future charging stations. They are equipped with a load-bearing cover that can be integrated into the surrounding architecture and will not disrupt the aesthetics of the parking lot.

Allocation of a portion of chargers to a specific tenant

The client needed to reserve a certain portion of the chargers in the parking lot for a specific tenant so that only employees of a specific company could use these charging stations.

    Charging based on email domain

Through our MyAgeVolt software platform, we allowed selected chargers to charge only if the user logged in with an email from a specific company's corporate domain.
