2. Charging station description

Pillar Slim is available in two EVSE variants: sockets or cables.
TouchPoint is on the front with two LED indicator strips. Sockets or charging cables are on the sides, depending on configuration.

TouchPoint is a smart control and information terminal that extends charging station functionality. It enables clear user communication, displays charging instructions and status, and, depending on configuration, supports authorization or payment.
TouchPoint can serve as an information display or a payment and authorization terminal.
Available functions vary by station type, operator settings and charging access arrangements.

2.1. TouchPoint

Switching on and activating the display
TouchPoint starts automatically with the charging station. It is ready after station startup, although the display may normally enter energy-saving sleep mode.

Touch the screen to activate it.

The display shows the icon “Touch the screen”. Touching it displays further station instructions.
Always follow the current instructions shown on TouchPoint.

TouchPoint provides a straightforward user interface. All necessary steps appear on the display, so no settings outside the on-screen instructions are required.

2.2. Charging station status indicators

Two light strips beside TouchPoint indicate the station's current status.

Green indication means the station is ready for use and no charging is currently in progress.

Blue indication means charging is in progress. Blue light may also indicate charging progress or vehicle charge level.

Red indication means a fault or a state in which the station is not ready for normal use.

In that case, do not start charging; contact AgeVolt technical support.
AgeVolt helpdesk: +421 222 122 214.

2.3. Using TouchPoint for charging

Check that the station is ready. The indicator strips should be green.

1. Touch the TouchPoint display.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Complete the required authorization or payment for the specific station.
4. Connect the charging cable to the vehicle, following the on-screen sequence.
5. During charging, monitor the display information and status indicators.
6. Follow the display instructions when ending charging.

The exact starting, authorization, payment and ending procedures depend on station configuration and operator settings.

2.4. Important notes

Operate TouchPoint only by touching the display with your finger. Do not use sharp objects, excessive force or tools that could damage the screen.

If the display is unresponsive, the station indicates a fault or charging does not start as instructed, do not attempt repairs yourself. Contact AgeVolt technical support at +421 222 122 214.

Available functions, payment methods, authorization methods and displayed information depend on the specific hardware version, software configuration and operating mode.

2.5. Acoustic signals

3. Charging authorization options

The station operator determines how charging starts. TouchPoint shows available options and their sequence.

Without authorization

If charging without authorization is permitted, follow the display instructions.

RFID card or fob

Use a card or fob authorized by the operator. Present it to the reader and follow the display instructions.

Application, QR code or payment card

At a station connected to MyAgeVolt, use supported charging-start methods. Find the charging point in the application or using its QR label. Ad hoc QR payment and payment-card use on TouchPoint depend on the specific station's settings.

RFID cards authorize charging. Direct payment by bank card at an activated terminal is a separate option.

4. Starting and ending charging

Follow the current TouchPoint instructions. Cable connection, authorization and payment order may vary with station settings.

  1. Touch the display and select the charging point as instructed.
  2. Connect the cable and complete required authorization or payment in the displayed order.
  3. After starting, monitor charging progress on the display.
  4. End charging using the display or vehicle instructions. Depending on configuration, charging may also be stopped in MyAgeVolt. Then disconnect the vehicle cable.

For socket versions, also disconnect your own cable from the station afterwards. A cable configured for long-term locking may remain at the station. The administrator or AgeVolt helpdesk releases it for replacement.

5. Assistance if charging fails

If the display is unresponsive, the station indicates a fault or charging does not start, contact the AgeVolt helpdesk: +421 222 122 214.

Telephone assistance for charging failures is available 24/7. We help with settings and routine requests during working hours, 9:00–16:00, or through helpdesk@agevolt.com.

Provide the station or charging point identifier and describe the display message. Many issues can be resolved remotely or with the site's technical contact.

Do not open the station or attempt repairs yourself. A qualified professional checks internal protection and performs repairs.

6. Technical data and documentation

Check technical data against the supplied configuration's nameplate and documentation. Pillar Slim with TouchPoint is available at 11 kW and 22 kW per charging point.

Current variants and documentation are also on the Pillar Slim TouchPoint product page. Local SmartSystem is not necessarily included in every TouchPoint installation.

6.1. Management and professional settings

Authorized administrators manage MyAgeVolt-connected stations in the MyAgeVolt portal. According to their permissions, they configure access, sharing and charging prices or view reports.

Ordinary charging does not require opening the station's configuration interface. Follow TouchPoint instructions and the authorization methods allowed by the operator.

This section is for administrators or service technicians. Availability of the local SmartSystem web interface depends on the specific installation. TouchPoint alone does not imply that the station contains the original SmartSystem and its interface.

OCPP connections are configured for the specific control unit and platform provider's details. Original SmartSystem webserver settings do not automatically apply to every TouchPoint variant.

If you are unsure about the configuration or access, ask the AgeVolt helpdesk. For the original station configuration, a separate operating guide without TouchPoint.

7. Maintenance, repairs and care

  7.1 Maintenance

The station requires minimal maintenance. AgeVolt recommends regular electrical inspections according to local requirements by an authorized, qualified professional, particularly for public stations. Owners should visually inspect it regularly and maintain good operating condition to prevent damage, faults or accidents.

   7.2 Repairs

Unauthorized station repairs are prohibited. Repairs should be performed only by a qualified electrician using original AgeVolt-approved spare parts.

  7.3 Cleaning

If required, clean the charging station only with a dry cloth. Disconnect power while cleaning to avoid electric shock. Do not use a pressure washer or aggressive cleaning agents.
