AgeVolt SmartMeter
Article contents
AgeVolt SmartMeter is an electricity meter for measuring electricity consumption on the building side of the supply point or at electrical network bottlenecks. It sends measured values directly to SmartSystem.
SmartSystem uses these data to dynamically manage electric vehicle charging and optimize overall energy use.
SmartMeter significantly contributes to cost savings for charging station owners and enables electricity consumption to be monitored and managed in real time. This ensures efficient energy use and prevents network overload.

Key features
- Measuring a building's electricity consumption in real time at one or more points.
- The measurement range depends on current sensors and wiring. We design sensor size and type for the current and conductor diameter or busbar dimensions.
- Simple installation without disconnecting existing power cabling.
- SmartMeter sends measured values to SmartSystem through a wired bus.
Key benefits
- Reduces costs It monitors the building's current consumption so SmartSystem can optimize charging and protect the network.
- Scalability and flexibility Existing equipment allows additional charging points to be added gradually.
- Optimizes energy distribution between several charging points at one location.
- Dynamic energy use Helps make optimal use of reserved capacity and energy sources: the grid, solar power and batteries.

SmartMeter functions
- Metering
- SmartMeter obtains data from one or three phases in the building. It records electricity consumption, voltage, current and power factor and sends them to the SmartSystem control unit.
- Monitoring
- SmartSystem monitors and evaluates data from one or more SmartMeters. It uses them to optimize charging power, protecting the network from overload and reserved-capacity exceedance.
The module monitors electricity consumption and is designed for installation in an electrical distribution board. It is suitable for use in family homes as well as large industrial or building office buildings.
It can provide metering for multiple charging stations. SmartSystem is required to manage charging stations.
Additional units are needed to meter multiple locations or cables. The project manager determines the required number of SmartMeters after a technical site inspection.
