AgeVolt SmartSystem

Article contents

SmartSystem is a site control assembly based on TECO CP-2090. It obtains consumption data and adjusts compatible chargers' power to the electrical distribution limits. Current equipment and options are on the page Energy metering and management.

What SmartSystem manages

Management can account for the main supply, sub-distribution boards and charger branches. A maximum in A, kW or both can be set at a metered point. A dedicated charger branch can be managed against a current limit using the stations' own measurements. A separate SmartMeter is added where other consumption also needs to be known.

Metering and connection

  • SmartMeter based on C-EM-0300M provides data through CIB. A site can have several metered points.
  • Compatible existing metering or building systems can be connected using Modbus TCP/RTU.
  • SmartSystem connects through Ethernet or a supported Wi-Fi adapter, depending on the assembly.
  • The basic CIB bus supports 32 hardware components. This count includes SmartMeters, EV modules and displays. Expansion uses Smart Extender.

Priorities and your own energy

Priorities determine which charging is reduced first when power is insufficient. Photovoltaic surplus mode can use energy that would otherwise return to the grid. The specific mode depends on metering, vehicles and the unit's available functions.

Original local SmartSystem interface

On a supported unit, the original local interface configures stations, local access and RFID identifiers, priorities, time limits and cost prices. It displays charging status, consumption, graphs and transaction reports. Menu and function availability must be checked against firmware.

Local management can operate without internet in the relevant assembly. Cloud services, remote management and further integrations require the appropriate connection. This local guide does not describe the same menus as today's digital platform MyAgeVolt.

Connecting to other systems

SmartSystem can receive limits from compatible building management and provide measured data through an agreed Modbus connection. The original system also supports OCPP 1.6J for platform connections, depending on firmware. Parking integrations are designed individually for the specific system.

You choose the required scope of hardware, platform and services. Naming a protocol alone does not confirm a specific integration.
